Hello Friends,
How Lost is Too Lost?

I was recently listening to the testimony of a married woman who was approximately thirty years old. Before we crossed paths, she had heard that I was a preacher, it usually happens this way. Because of this, she wanted to tell me her story. As I was listening, I began to think, “Wow, this is so real to her, so simple; and yet she was SO LOST before Christ. If God can change her heart, He can change anyone’s heart.” I know this sounds a bit cliché, but it’s the truth. Listening to her testimony revived my heart to the reality of the cross. I want to recount her testimony to you as I remember it. For the sake of privacy, we will call her Angela.

Angela’s father tried to kill her in her first week of life because she was not a boy. She was raised by her Mom and Grandmother in a family of many different religions. Her mom was Catholic, her uncle was a pagan and her step-father was Jewish. As a child Angela was taught that God was the same in all cultures and was taught nothing of Christ.

By the time she was 13 years old, her mother had remarried again to Angela’s second step-father who began to molest her. Because of this she felt like her surroundings were unsafe and she needed to take measures to control what happened to her. This turned her to studying witchcraft and Wicca. Angela told me, “I felt like it was a great way to protect myself, and help others, without people getting too close to me.”

After being a “White Witch” for several years, she was dating a non-believer whose friends kept mentioning Jesus around her. She began to question the validity of Christ and what people were saying about Him. She began to pray one day in her car, “God, show me who Jesus is. I hear what everyone else says, but what do You say?” God answered her prayer. On (Easter) April 15, 2001, Angela went to church for the third time in her entire life.

She heard for the first time in her life about Christ being bruised, beaten, tortured and crucified on the cross. She thought in her mind about how unfair He was treated. She, “felt it was not fair that Jesus died and he did nothing to deserve what happened to him.” At the end of the service the pastor said, “If anyone wants to accept Jesus that they needed to confess it before man.” Being afraid of God’s judgment and under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, Angela gave her heart to Christ and received the gift of eternal life.

Amazingly, as she began to seek God and hunger for more truth, she was made fun of in the very church she was saved in. This is what most churches look like. They do not know how to handle people when their lives are changed. Thus, most churches are like country clubs for “members” only. The members made fun of her for not understanding sin and what sin was. She felt crushed and left the church praying that God would help her find somewhere to fit in.

photoIn obedience, she wanted to break up with the guy she was engaged to but didn’t know how. She prayed for three days that God would intervene and He did. The young man called her up and said, “I don’t love you and I never have loved you. You want God and I don’t want God, so He can have you.” She got off the phone, relieved that God had answered her prayer. She didn’t date for several years until she met the Christian man she is married to today. What an awesome Story!

This is what it is all about. Surprisingly, I get more excited hearing testimonies and seeing people’s lives changed more than anything I have ever done in my life.! You would think that standing in front of mass crowds would do the trick, but it doesn’t. God cares about the numbers and each person means one more soul ripped out of the devil’s traps.

Please Pray
1. Pray for the activity in Perry, Florida, and Thomaston, Georgia. We need a special move of God in each of these two places as we move forward in planning a community wide evangelistic effort. The outreaches are unrelated except that they are related to the Tre’ Faulkner Evangelistic Association. There has been a lot of interest shown in these two areas for a community wide meeting. We need your prayers and financial support to make this vision become a reality. Please keep these two possible outreach avenues as a part of your prayers. It may take 12 months to see these two outreaches become a reality.

2. I will be preaching this month in Pennsylvania and right outside of New Orleans at a missions week in Bay St. Louis, Louisiana.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. May you continue to be led by the grace of God. Please remember, you can support us online safely and securely. It’s so easy to create an account. Please pray about supporting us online monthly by logging on to www.themessageoflife.com .
